BROOK PSYCHOLOGY · INFORMATION FOR REFERRERS

Clear pathways.
Collaborative care.

Practical referral information for GPs, allied health professionals, insurers, case managers and workplace rehabilitation providers.

WHO WE SEE

Psychological assessment and treatment.

Brook Psychology provides psychological treatment for a range of presentations, including anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, adjustment difficulties, stress and other emotional or behavioural concerns. Our clinicians have differing interests and experience; reception can assist with general enquiries about suitability.

We see adults and young people, with age range and availability depending on the individual psychologist. Please check suitability for a particular referral before arranging an appointment.

Ellenbrook is our primary practice. Our secondary Karrinyup location focuses particularly on workers’ compensation referrals, including psychological responses to physical injury, persistent pain and workplace-related psychological injury.

REFERRAL PATHWAYS

Funding and referral arrangements

Medicare and private clients

Clients may attend privately without a referral. Medicare rebates generally require an eligible referral and the relevant Medicare arrangements. Please include the referral details required for the intended pathway.

Workers’ compensation

We accept enquiries for workplace-related psychological treatment. Please confirm insurer details, claim information and treatment approval or payment arrangements before commencement.

Employee health and welfare programs

We provide psychological treatment for St John Ambulance and WA Police Force employees through their respective employee health and welfare arrangements, subject to eligibility and program processes.

Private health

Private health rebates depend on the client's policy and the service provided. Clients should check entitlements with their fund.

Other funded referrals

For DVA, motor vehicle injury or other third-party arrangements, please contact reception to confirm whether the proposed referral can be accommodated and what approvals are needed.

Telehealth

Telehealth may be available where clinically suitable and consistent with the funding arrangements. Availability varies by psychologist.

MAKING A REFERRAL

What helps us process a referral?

Where relevant, please include:

  • Client name and contact details, provided through an appropriate secure channel.
  • Reason for referral and relevant presenting concerns.
  • Referral purpose and any priority or access needs.
  • Relevant funding pathway, insurer or program details, and approval status.
  • Referrer name, provider details and requested correspondence.

Confidentiality: Please do not send medical histories, clinical reports or sensitive attachments through the public website enquiry form. Contact reception to arrange an appropriate method for transmitting clinical documents.
